  The history of billboards  
 
Bilboard represents the most vital element in every propaganda campaign. It is said that it is dervide from two words bill and board. When we link the meaning of these two words we get "board for the rent". Billboard is inevitable way of spreading advertisement. On your every step, there is a billboard with its messages. Each billboard has its own meaning which is manifested through careful selection of billboards.
 
 

Billboard is the oldest means of communication dating from ancient Greeks and Egyptians in a form of poster. Predecessor of poster could be found on Egyptian papyrus, Sumerian inscriptions, Roman slates with announcements about gladiators and theatre shows. Poster dates from the beginning of 19th century when the first advertising pillars were set. .

 
Modern way of outdoor advertising through the poster of large dimensions on special large boards( billboards) and building facades, dates in 20 th century in Northern America. It was widely spread in Europe.
Nowdays, outdoor advertising is a very efficient means of propaganda.
